Exporters For Ex-Im Coalition Says Foreign Countries Are Benefiting From Congressional Inaction On Ex-Im Bank

Washington, DC – The Exporters for Ex-Im Coalition released the following statement on the agreement between General Electric and the United Kingdom:

“Today’s agreement is yet another example of how foreign countries with Export Credit Agencies (ECA) are capitalizing on the lapse of the U.S. Export-Import Bank. Export credit agency financing is often required to bid on a project, giving countries with functioning ECAs a leg up on the competition when it comes to attracting business in their country.

“Until the broad, bipartisan group of lawmakers who support Ex-Im get a chance to vote to reauthorize the agency, the U.S. will continue to miss economic opportunities.”
